How to Become a Coach/Mentor Partner with Fit Education

Fit Education provides on-line learning and assessment opportunities for students to obtain their SIS20115 Certificate II in Sport and RecreationSIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness, SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness and SIS50321 Diploma of Sport. Fit Education Students have the opportunity to identify a sponsor fitness facility or Coach/Mentor to assist in the supervision and observation of practical assessment activities and provide opportunities to complete practical experience. If you are a PT learn here how to become a Mentor/Coach Partner with Fit Education’s Personal Training Courses.

Gyms or Personal Trainers that refer new students and become their Coach/Mentors receive from $400 to $800 per student.

How to become a Mentor/Coach Partner with Fit Education

Roles of the Coach/Mentor

The Coach/Mentor role actively supervises students while they perform fitness industry tasks relevant to their course. Additionally, this role provides valuable work experience opportunities.

The work experience is provided on a volunteer basis and are at no cost to you or your organisation. Furthermore, work experience hours enable a student to gain valuable experience through assisting you to conduct various tasks such as administration and reception, marketing and promotional activities, event planning, equipment maintenance, attendance in fitness activities and or observing other fitness trainers deliver fitness activities. The student is provided a work experience log book where they record work experience undertaken 

All hours are to be verified by the person conducting the activity or supervising them during the task.

Should you be in a position to assist a fitness student, the following is an outline of the type of resources that may be required, however access to all listed resources is not mandatory.

You or your organisation are able to cease participating in this program at any stage. Notify Fit Education of any situations where you are not satisfied with the performance of the student.

Students are provided a code of conduct in their Student Handbook which they are required to follow while undertaking training and work experience tasks, including:

Students have joined Fitness Australia “student membership”. The tasks undertaken by the students are at a mentor’s discretion however the students are not covered for insurance purposes other than as a volunteer/visitor to the organisation under public liability insurance.

Role of Fit Education

Fit Education is responsible for the learning and assessment of the student as well as offering support and guidance to mentors and sponsors as required.
