Outcome: 3-year first aid accreditation and 1-year CPR accreditation
Study methods: Online study of theory, and on campus face-to-face practical. We can also come to you for on-site training if you have a group of 10 or more people.
Payment methods: Upfront payment of $120 for First Aid & CPR, or $60 for CPR only
With a nationally accredited first aid and CPR course from Fit Education, you’ll be able to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response. This certificate is a minimum requirement for workplace first aid and covers the most common workplace injuries and illnesses. On completion of the certificate, you will confidently be able to manage the casualty, provide life support and manage the incident until further help arrives on the scene.
Fit Education’s First Aid Certificate is the current government-approved course and the generalist first aid course that employers in Australia require. It is suitable for both employees and individuals who would like to be able to provide first aid in an emergency. All first aid certifications must be renewed every 3 years.
The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – CPR course gives you skills to perform CPR on a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally. This training will give you the knowledge and skills to perform CPR on an adult or infant. You will also learn alternative methods for delivering rescue breaths and how to manage a victim of drowning. Currently, it is recommended CPR certifications are renewed annually.
You will need to renew your CPR certification annually, and your first aid certification every 3 years to ensure your skills remain current. If these certifications are not maintained, your insurance may not be valid.
No prior experience or specific fitness level is required; however, students must be able to demonstrate CPR on a mannequin on the floor. Students must also meet our Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) requirements, and Digital Literacy requirements.
Course intakes are flexible with rolling start dates, allowing students to commence whenever they want. Students have 3 months to complete their course, with theory completed online, and regular practical days run at our Fit Education – Chelmer campus.
No occupational licensing requirements apply.
