Linda Cioni
Administration Manager
Linda has been engaged in the Vocational Education and Training arena for 17 years, having worked in student support, quality assurance and management and is passionate about the services that can be offered to students. Linda is very supportive of the entire “student experience” as this is what, she believes, we are here to provide.
Linda studied Bachelor of Arts majoring in Anthropology and is an avid traveler and enjoys engaging with people from a variety of backgrounds. This knowledge is highly beneficial in her engagement with students, schools, universities and government departments who she is in contact with on a daily basis. She is able to build an effective rapport with our stakeholders and ensures that our services are offered professionally and in a timely manner (but maintains an ongoing sense of humour amongst any crisis). As a student of Fit Education you would be comfortable pressing the Admin option on the phone line as Linda is always willing to listen to a student’s individual circumstance and will endeavor of reach a suitable solution. Jamie Hunter
Sales and Marketing Manager
Fitness plays a huge role in Jamie’s personal life and family life. He believes it’s important to lead an active and healthy life as role models to our next generation. That’s why Jamie has a passion for helping fitness enthusiasts like himself improve the life of those around them.
Filled with knowledge that covers all aspects of the industry, Jamie takes pride in guiding people toward achieving their goals. Being trained and coached by Chris Weier (Director of Fit Education) Jamie knows first hand the importance that a good support team plays. His philosophy when it comes to a career in fitness is to become a part of and attached to your client’s fitness journey. The relationship you form with your client directly relates to the results they get from your support and guidance. Ever one to push himself, Jamie spends his spare time trail running and taking part in endurance competitions. You can find him taking part in ultra distance trail races or in Tough Mudder and Spartan races with most of his early morning weekends spent on the trails of Brisbane. Kurt Perotte
Online Trainer and Assessor
Kurt is a part of our Training and Assessing team, he is dedicated to using his skills and education to give Fit Education students the best possible experience through his role as Online Assessor and Trainer. He is passionate about fitness and has been playing sport his whole life, usually on the cricket pitch or rugby league field.
Kurt currently plays for Sandgate/Redcliffe District Cricket Club, coming into his 10th season in Senior Cricket. Kurt Captained his cricket team to win the overall Premiership in the 2017/2018 season. He also holds the clubs 2 day batting record with a huge 629 runs. As our Online Assessor and Trainer, Kurt likes to make sure his students are balancing the theory and practical elements of the course. Giovanni Capello
Trainer and Assessor
Gio has a broad knowledge and experience in both fitness, and strength and conditioning. This means that as a teacher he can draw upon many examples that makes the students’ learning experience more understandable and enjoyable.
An integral member of the team, Gio has built his knowledge locally and nationally working with the Queensland Police Force, Aspire Academy of Sports Excellence in Qatar and the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland. Gio first entered the sports and fitness industry as an Amateur boxer in 1992. The fitness requirements of the sport led him to expand his knowledge in the area by completing a fitness leader certificate and becoming qualified as a gym instructor. He’s never looked back, finding too much satisfaction changing people’s lives forever through health and fitness. His knowledge see him conducting training for Squash Australia and elite private schools in Queensland. He specializes in strength and conditioning, and boxing training, and is a member of the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association. Gio loves to see people with a passion to work with others start to pursue a career in fitness as they get a chance to really create positive change in other people’s lives. If you complete some of your workbooks each week, the work load will be easy to manage. He also says it’s good to understand that the Cert III or IV in fitness is the start of the journey to a career in the fitness industry. Anthony Burke
Trainer and Assessor
Anthony originally chose a career as a Personal Trainer because he wanted to feel good about the service that he was selling and wanted to know that he was helping people improve their lives. As a Personal Trainer he has helped many clients, friends and family of all ages to lose weight, achieve their sporting goals, increase their cardio-vascular capacity, decrease their blood pressure, increase their mobility and improve their general health and self-esteem.
Anthony has held many senior and leadership positions in independent and well known brands throughout his career, from running his own successful PT business to owning clubs within the Jetts and Fernwood Fitness groups. Anthony is now owner of a new club Distinction Fitness, positioned in North Brisbane. Along with running his own business, Anthony is part of the Fit Education Training and Assessment team supporting students with the Certificate and Diploma qualifications along with delivering First Aid and CPR courses. Jody Pavlou
Trainer and Assessor
Fitness Mentor Jody Pavlou has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years and has worked in many fitness clubs in the Newcastle area teaching group Fitness classes, Personal training single clients, groups and sporting groups of many levels, performing reception duties and manager roles.
Jody currently works in a Managers role for Genesis Fitness Club, where they have 9 clubs in the local area. Jody looks after 7 of those clubs that run Group Fitness classes , managing the Group Fitness Coordinators in each of those clubs. She Still teaches Group Fitness classes for Genesis which include BodyBlitz, BARRE, Pilates, Schwinn Cycle, Freestyle aerobics, Boxing, High intensity classes and Step. Jody also runs a successful small group Training Business called OneLife, For all your Fitness, Health and Training needs. This business attracts males and females of different ages and abilities to exercise in an environment that they feel comfortable in. Jody also runs kids outdoor training and athletics sessions and work for Athletics Australia and touch NSW coaching kids in these specific sports. Her business has also lead Jody into presenting First aid and CPR courses and presenting for Asthma Australia. Jody’s passion is health and fitness and she is motivated by her clients each and every day seeing them striving to achieve their results. What a career in fitness means to Jody: ‘A career in fitness can open up some many avenues that make you feel like you never work a day in your life!’
Brian Kerle
Brian Kerle has spent a lifetime playing basketball, and selecting and nurturing great talent. He coached 456 NBL games over 13 seasons, twice won Coach of the Year, won two successive NBL titles with St Kilda (1979 and 1980) and a fifth place at the World Club Championships (1981), took the Bullets to the 1984, 1986 and 1990 NBL grand finals and two championship titles (1985 and 1987).
This is a record few coaches can match in NBL history. He was Assistant Coach for the Australian Men’s Teams at a World Championship and Olympic Games and has been one of the most successful basketball coaches in Australian basketball. His contribution to the game at all levels has been profound, demonstrated by his induction into the NBL Hall of Fame in 2006. Since leaving the competitive basketball scene, he has continued coaching in schools, clubs and coaching clinics throughout Queensland. He also worked at Sport and Recreation Queensland where he ran various sports programs including ‘Thanks Ref’ and ‘Deadly Sports’. Brian now combines the skills he learnt as a player, coach and business manager to developing excellence on and off the court through Brian Kerle Basketball Academy. With Brian’s long list of credentials in leadership roles at the highest level in sports along with running successful coaching clinics for teens, students will gain invaluable knowledge and guidance to support their own pursuits in the health and fitness industry.
Dundee Kim
Initially learning the art of boxing to protect himself from bullies, Industry Coach Dundee Kim eventually harnessed his skills to become a two-time amateur boxing champion in South Korea.
From there he migrated to Australia to become the Associate Director of International Relations, and then the Regional Director of International Relations at James Cook University. He eventually became the founder of Dundee’s Boxing & Fitness gym in Brisbane. Dundee is a world champion strength and conditioning coach and is frequently seen in Jeff Horn’s corner at major title bouts. Some of Dundee’s notable credentials 2007: Most Outstanding performer in Marketing, James Cook University Brisbane 2009: Qualified as a Personal Trainer and completed Certificate 3 and 4 2010: Qualified as a Training Assessment Assessor 2000: Graduated with Diploma of Ministry at ACOM in Brisbane 2009: Founded Dundee’s Body Care Trust, trading as Dundee’s Boxing & Fitness 2011: Created own boxing program which has been accredited by Fitness Australia – Boxing Confidence for Trainer / Certificate 1 and 2(CEC 15 points for Personal Trainers)
