PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Manager – Futsal is responsible for delivering the strategic outcomes for futsal, managing administrative and operational functions, and providing professional support to stakeholders across the state.
This role works collaboratively with competition administrators, referee development personnel, and game development staff to foster an environment that enhances participation and enjoyment in futsal through exceptional customer service and the timely delivery of high-quality futsal programs and competitions.
The 2024–2026 Football Queensland One Football Strategic Plan and Futsal Strategy outlines key focus areas. The Manager – Futsal will contribute to delivering these strategic outcomes. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager – Futsal will:
Strategic Delivery
• Implement strategies from the Football Queensland 2024–2026 Futsal Strategy, including:
o Participation & Clubs: Grow futsal involvement across all demographics through innovation and expanded offerings.
o Elite Teams & Pathways: Establish clear, accessible pathways for players, coaches, and referees.
o Fans: Enhance the futsal product through exciting and engaging competitions that improve the level of play.
o Unifying Futsal: Build a cohesive futsal community committed to improving the overall experience
Competition Management
• Coordinate and deliver FQ futsal competition products, including:
o Futsal State Titles
o National Futsal Championships
o F-League and FQ Futsal Premier League
o FQ Academy Futsal League 1 & 2
o Regional, School, and Community Futsal Competitions
o Clinics, carnivals, and camps as developed
• Collaborate with the FQ Competitions Team product delivery
Player Development Pathways
• Establish and administer academy and development programs for players
• Coordinate and administer that Qld State Player Representative program
• Build a pool of capable casual futsal coaching staff
Coach and Referee Engagement
• Administer development and assessment programs for futsal coaches and referees
• Organise logistics for futsal coach and referee courses
• Contribute to policies that support retention and development strategies
Game Development Support
• Support futsal activations during community engagements including Roadshows
• Collaborate with the Game Development Group to grow the Sporting Schools program
Administration
• Assist the FQ Events Manager in delivering key futsal events
• Manage customer service delivery including competitions and registrations
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as directed
Key Performance Measures
• A performance and development agreement will define expectations, goals, and improvement areas
• Regular goal setting and review will help monitor effectiveness and guide professional growth
• Outcomes will be aligned with KPIs defined in the Football Queensland 2024–2026 Futsal Strategy
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential:
• Background in operations, administration, or management, preferably in sport or community sectors
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working with diverse community groups and volunteers
• High level of organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, with initiative and reliability
• Current (or willingness to obtain) Queensland Working with Children Blue Card
Desirable:
• Tertiary qualifications in Sports Management or equivalent
• Experience or knowledge of the futsal or broader sporting industry
