Table Tennis Queensland (TTQ), the governing body for table tennis in Queensland, strives to govern the sport for the prosperity of all stakeholders and promote safe and enjoyable participation opportunities that ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the sport in Queensland.
TTQ represents 1800 + members via its 23 affiliated clubs and associations.
TTQ Vision: Provide strong leadership to support the promotion, development and administration of table tennis to get Queenslanders more active in more places, more often.
TTQ Mission: For the sport of table tennis in Queensland to have a growing participation base, a strong community profile, an engaged and capable workforce, well performing athletes, coaches & officials and a viable and sustainable future.
Governed by the TTQ Board, TTQ operations is managed by the Executive Officer and a dedicated team based in Sports House Milton.
About the Role
TTQ is seeking to engage a motivated and engaging person to support the Executive Officer in the delivery of a number of key projects and events in 2025. This is a permanent part-time 12-month contracted position commencing in January 2025 (subject to appointment) until 31 December 2025. There may be an opportunity to extend this position beyond 2025, subject to a review of deliverables, outcomes and funding for this position.
The key deliverables for this role are including, but not limited to the following.
1. TTQ Participation Strategy
Provide support to the Executive Officer to deliver the Participation Strategy focused on growing awareness and participation of table tennis in schools across South East QLD and Regional QLD Locations.
2. QLD Schools Championships
Provide support to the Executive Officer to plan and deliver the QLD Schools Table Tennis Championships in 2025, including coordination of regional qualifying events and the state final.
3. QLD Events Administration & Support
Provide support to the Executive Officer to plan and deliver table tennis events and activities, including but not limited to state championships and other events held at the South Pine Sports Complex, Moreton Bay.
4. Social Media & Marketing
Provide support to the Executive Officer to manage and administer the social media and marketing strategy focused on supporting the above role deliverables and other events and activities to support the objectives and strategic vision of TTQ.
Position Description
Position TTQ Participation, Events & Marketing Officer (12-Month Contract Position)
Location Table Tennis Queensland Office, Sports House, Milton 4064, QLD (Brisbane)
Reports to TTQ Executive Officer Purpose of the Position The primary focus of the Participation, Events & Marketing Officer includes, but is not limited to the following key deliverables.
1. TTQ Participation Strategy

Role Duration This is a permanent part-time contract position for a fixed period of 12-months from
January to December 2025.
Remuneration This position is offered in accordance with the Sporting Organisations Award 2020
[MA000082]. Award Classification: Clerical and Administrative Staff, Grade 2.
Working Days & Hours
The role is based on an average of 3-4 days per week and a requirement to
increase the number of work days during “event weeks” which typically occur for 5-6 weeks during the year.
Office based hours during are typically 9.00am to 5.00pm (Monday to Friday).
Work hours (including weekends) during “event weeks” can be from 8am to 10pm
as required to meet the requirements of the role to deliver TTQ events.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong verbal communication skills
Strong to advanced computer skills
Tertiary qualifications are not essential, but a passion for sports, event management and marketing and a desire to start or develop a career in sports would be an distinct advantage.
Previous experience in sports coaching is desirable but not a pre-requisite. A current accreditation in table tennis coaching will be highly regarded.
Ability to work autonomously on project based tasks
Ability to apply pro-active thinking and problem solving
