The Australian Basketball Academy (ABA) initiative provides beginner to elite holistic player development. We strive to make a positive change in every player’s life & teach the skills taught to professionals to younger players.

Currently looking for

Loud & experienced kids coaches (ages U8-U12) to join our team for skills development, team trainings & matches in the bayside area.

More About ABA

We provide a world class training program for young kids, whilst maintaining a focus on fun & friendship. The program has been designed by an Osteopath, and is a great way for kids to learn the concept of sportsmanship, boost confidence, develop gross motor skills, and encourage a healthy lifestyle, while learning, practicing & mastering the basketball skills required to play at the next level.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Behavioural management: Loud coaching keeping players in listening and engaged. (MOST IMPORTANT)
• Skill development: Delivery of ABA training plans & ability to making adjustments as you see fit.
• Parent & Player relations: Building great rapport with players & parents.
• Game-day: Create a fun, winning environment for our teams
• Inspire the next generation of basketball players!

Qualifications & experience

• Elite level playing experience (Very Desirable)
• Previous work with children aged 6-10 (Very Desirable)
• Coaching experience (Required)
• Employee Working with Children Check (Required)
• Winning coaching experience (Desirable)
• Coaching qualifications (Desirable)
